August Full Moon: Evoke The Journey

EVOKE the JOURNEY

This full moon is dedicated to the power to evoke the journey of our lives.

The Power to Evoke
At every moment there is a choice...we can move along our journey through effort and force OR we can create a way of being that attracts miracles in to our lives. What does it take to evoke miracles? What does it take to be a space of attraction? How do you magnetize yourself for miracles? These are the topics we will be exploring at our August full moon.

Things to think about for this moon:
- What makes you feel attractive?
- When is the last time you experienced a miracle?
- Do you have any rituals you practice before taking on a new project or going on a journey?
- Who or what do you look to for wisdom...when you are embarking on a new adventure?

What to bring:
- Wear something that makes you feel attractive and happy.
- Bring something vibrant and juicy from nature...flowers or fruit ... use your imagination.
- (Optional) This full moon is an open circle moon...so this is a great full moon to bring a guest. This is your chance to begin to evoke your/our journey...it is an opportunity to invite someone who has something special to contribute to the magic of the group.

Goddess Update: Goddess Carole will be a Grammie

I just wanted you all to know that Goddess Carole has not been joining us ... she has been attending to some exciting developments in her life. If you remember back to one of Carole's first few moon parties...she wanted grand children. Well her intentions have come true. She is going to be a "Grammie" this winter. Her son and daughter in law are expecting their first baby in the fall of this year. Its a baby girl and they will name her Abbie.

She's sorry she has had to miss the last few moon parties, but she has been traveling to colorado to help her son and his wife prepare for the new arrival. We are delighted that her dreams have come true and we look forward to Carole joining us again when her schedule allows.

I'll keep you posted of updates from time to time and surely provide photos of baby Abbie when she arrives!

Mermaid Moon: July 2009 "Passion, Joy & Celebration"

Pictures are worth 1,000 words...Yet there are only three words to describe last night's wonderful Mermaid Moon Party:
Passion, Joy and Celebration! We were all coming off the emotional roller coaster of Michael Jackson's heartfelt Funeral and Shannon and I had been driving around all day listening to the Jackson Five and Michael's greatest hits, we were on a natural high wanting to Celebrate Life and our Gifts. We felt like Dancing. "Do you think Julie will let us Dance tonight?" asked Shannon...
I replied "Of course."
In tune as we all are, Shan and I came up the path to Julie's house hearing familiar Motown beats coming from her open Window. It was then we were greeted at the door by an absolutely glowing Goddess in all her dancing glory. "Woo Hoo" the party was on.
The horderves and Mermaid Theme were laid out impeccably. We took it all in as Shannon moved into DJ mode, while I set up my Mixologist station to concoct an ethereal Blue Mermaid Martini.

Julie with ease and grace prepared our Catch of the Day, a delicious Salmon, broiled to perfection! Jenna arrived in a bright coral ensemble radiating her usual sunny attitude.

We drank and laughed and enjoyed a visual of Under the Sea Jellyfish on Julie's big screen TV. A fitting backdrop for Mermaids.

After Dinner we cleared the table for our Rose Champagne Tea, and Mango Sorbet while delighting in a Gratitude Exercise that could only be perfected by the orchestration of Miss Julie. She hand made us Whimsical and Sparkly Mermaid Moon candles, complete with Merman Matches and enough affirmations to charge the flames.

The evening concluded with a visit from Julie's new beau, Andy. Who was honored to be a rare male presence in such a gathering. We joked and laughed and Took to the Dance floor, doing silly routines and allowing Shannon to Choreograph a little Mermaid Routine, complete with Ripples and Mermaid Arms. LOL! Andy was a good sport taking our photos and playing along with the silliness. Poor guy. I felt like he was the only Boy being initiated into a GIRLS ONLY TREE HOUSE CLUB
All and All we have never laughed so hard, danced so joyfully, or felt so deeply as we did This Mermaid Moon...and I think we owe a lot of it to Julie and just a little bit to The King of Pop...for reminding us to LIVE LIFE IN LOVE to THE FULLEST OF OUR CAPACITY!!

July’s full moon is often referred to as the Mead, Blessing, Lightning or Thunder moon. The energies around this moon are ones of success, appreciating what we have worked hard for, reaping the first harvests and celebrating our successes. We are encouraged to appreciate our accomplishments and begin to put energy into building on them.

Gemstones that will enhance our Mermaid Moon’s Energy:

Amazonite, Aquamarine, Bloodstone, Diamond, Malachite, Opal, Peridot and Ruby. These gems help enhance the energy of all the chakras. Remember that Mead is the nectar of the Gods, so having all our chakras in balance at this time helps us appreciate the Mead in our own lives!

Connecting to the Source:

The moon at this time brings us feelings of being whole and connected. What greater spiritual connection can we have than that to Great Spirit, or God? This is the energy or spirit that governs all. We can really pay homage and respect to Great Spirit at this time because this is the time of year when we are typically at our energetic best. We can learn to recognize Great Spirit within ourselves by meditating on connecting with this being. Once you feel a connection with this energy, you will begin to become clear about all the wonderful things you are grateful for in your life. Great Spirit encourages us to first recognize blessings in our own lives and then "pay them forward", thus continuing the cycle of positive energy.

Essential Oils:

Oils can be used most easily in a diffuser. Some can be added in small quantities to baths and others can be used in soap and candle making. Do some research before you try them in other ways, aside from diffusers, as some are corrosive and cause skin irritations. The following oils will help you connect with your unconscious mind and set the intention of success, celebration and health:

Lotus Moon: June 2009

I purposefully decided that my Moon Parties were to represent a Trilogy or Three Successive Moons. The Moons that held Asian Names and motifs. April's was the Peony Moon; demonstrating a light hearted Maiden feel or new life just beginning...May was the Dragon Moon; a Mother Moon that went deep into Ancient Wisdom and Intuition...and the final Moon of the Moon Cycle was Enlightenment or the Lotus Moon. During the Enlightenment phase I wanted my fellow Moon Goddesses to embrace the JOY of being, just simply being...still, attentive, knowing and wonderful...in the NOW.

I loved our party and felt surrounded by the warmth and comfort of true friends just enjoying each other's company ... openly sharing our heartaches and our triumphs. A genuine support system is evolving within this wonderful group of soul sistahs...I love you ladies!!!
