THE MEANING & SYMBOLISM OF THE CHRYSANTHEMUM

With a history that dates back to 15th century B.C., chrysanthemum mythology is filled with a multitude of stories and symbolism. Named from the Greek prefix “chrys-“ meaning golden (its original color) and “-anthemion,” meaning flower, years of artful cultivation have produced a full range of colors, from white to purple to red. Daisy-like with a typically yellow center and a decorative pompon, chrysanthemums symbolize optimism and joy. They’re the November birth flower, the 13th wedding anniversary flower and the official flower of the city of Chicago. In Japan, there’s even a “Festival of Happiness” to celebrate this flower each year.

A symbol of the sun, the Japanese consider the orderly unfolding of the chrysanthemum’s petals to represent perfection, and Confucius once suggested they be used as an object of meditation. It’s said that a single petal of this celebrated flower placed at the bottom of a wine glass will encourage a long and healthy life.

Preparing for the September Full Moon

In preparing for the full moon in September I wanted to celebrate and acknowledge the miracles and wonders that have happened since the last full moon.

Since the last full moon

Sharing Testimony and Feeling the Flow
I have been sharing Gods miracles in my life with more people. The result is that my intuition is electric. I can think of Andy and he will text me a second later. I asked God for something to help me manifest my next ideal job...and in the next second someone sent me a video to the new book by Abraham-Hicks called The Vortex. It has totally connected me to doing things I love. I feel connected to the flow of life...bouncing from stone to stone on the path to my next joyfilled moment.

Taught Kundalini Yoga
I also taught yoga in Saratoga for a private group. It is my first time teaching in 2 years. I really got how powerful Kundalini Yoga is and how much of a joy and a privileged it is to teach. I also got that I have cellular memory of the yoga and I was able to jump back in and teach.

Passion is a Point of View
This one is kinda personal...but I have experienced an amazing amount of sensual power in my relationship. Letting all my sensual energy flow and being fully self expressed in that. The result is that I feel desired and a deep sense of peace. I realizes passion in partnership is a pleasure (say that 3 times fast!) and it starts with me attending to whatever I need to feel super sexy and alive.

Lightening the Load
Well I have been working out more...walking with Andy during the week and eating way better. I feel a shift in my body. I feel a pull towards more veggies and water. I also saw that I can amp up my weightloss by asking for help. My most successful times losing where when I had one on one coaching, regular accountability, and the freedom to choose my food. I have been trying to prove something to myself since January by doing it alone...I'm giving that up... I now welcome support in my weight loss journey.

So I go in to this next moon..
- Realizing I want support in my weight loss journey
- I am a passionate person and I can express it
- I testimony of my faith is something I can share with others.

August Full Moon: Evoke The Journey

EVOKE the JOURNEY

When: Friday, August 7th, 2009

When & Where: Julie's House at 7pm

This full moon is dedicated to the power to evoke the journey of our lives.

The Power to Evoke
At every moment there is a choice...we can move along our journey through effort and force OR we can create a way of being that attracts miracles in to our lives. What does it take to
evoke miracles? What does it take to be a space of attraction? How do you magnetize yourself for miracles? These are the topics we will be exploring at our August full moon.

Things to think about for this moon:
- What makes you feel attractive?
- When is the last time you experienced a miracle?
- Do you have any rituals you practice before taking on a new project or going on a journey?
- Who or what do you look to for wisdom...when you are embarking on a new adventure?

What to bring:
- Wear something that makes you feel attractive and happy.
- Bring something vibrant and juicy from nature...flowers or fruit ... use your imagination.
- (Optional) This full moon is an open circle moon...so this is a great full moon to bring a guest. This is your chance to begin to evoke your/our journey...it is an opportunity to invite someone who has something special to contribute to the magic of the group.
